Biosketch:

Dr. Couser is a board certified Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Adult Strabismus specialist with a unique interest in Ophthalmic Genetics. In addition to being on faculty at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Kittner Eye Center, he concurrently is a Medical Genetics Fellow in the UNC Department of Pediatrics, Division of Genetics and Metabolism.

He has served as the Medical Director for a pioneer Prevent Blindness America vision screening program, participated as a consultant for several clinical trials, presented invited lectures, won numerous awards for research, and now serves as a Reviewer for multiple medical journals.
